Privacy Policy

Praxis (“we”, “us”) helps you build habits and stay accountable. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives, and your choices. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account details you provide at sign-up: your name, username, and email. A date of birth, which you enter once so we can apply the correct minimum-age rating to social features. Content you create: tasks, goals, habits, notes, and the photos you capture as proof. Your accountability connections (the friends and partners you add). Your Praxis Pro subscription status, if you subscribe. Basic technical data needed to run the service, such as session info from our providers.

2. How we use it

To provide and maintain the app: sign you in, store your plans and progress, send the reminders you’ve enabled, run features like the AI goal planner, connect you with accountability partners, and unlock Praxis Pro if you subscribe. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Where your data lives

Your tasks, goals, progress, and the date of birth used for the age check are stored on your device. Your account (email/login), profile (name, username, profile picture), and accountability connections are stored with our backend provider, Supabase. Proof photos are uploaded to a private storage bucket and can be viewed only by you and the partners you share a task with, through unguessable links; your profile picture is stored so your friends and partners can see it.

4. AI features

When you use the AI goal planner, the goal text and your answers to its questions are sent — through our server — to Google’s Gemini API to generate your plan. Please don’t enter sensitive personal information into the planner. See Google’s privacy terms for how they process API requests.

5. Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device based on your tasks. They’re generated on your device; we don’t send them from a server.

6. Purchases & subscriptions

Praxis Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple, and we use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status and manage access. We receive your subscription status and a purchase identifier — not your payment-card details. Apple’s and RevenueCat’s privacy policies cover their handling of this data.

7. Sharing

Your content is private by default, and you choose which tasks and proofs to share with accountability partners. We share data only with the providers that run the app — Supabase (accounts, database, photo storage), Google (AI planner), and Apple and RevenueCat (subscriptions) — as needed to provide the service, and when required by law. We do not sell your data.

8. Your choices & rights

You can edit your profile, sign out, and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Deleting your account permanently removes your login and profile from our backend; content kept only on your device is erased when you delete the app or reset its data. To request removal of anything that remains, email us (below). Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your data.

9. Data retention

We keep your account while it’s active. When you delete your account, your login and profile are permanently removed. Backups or logs required by law may persist for a limited period.

10. Children

Praxis isn’t directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age that applies in your region). We ask for your date of birth to enforce this and to keep under-age users out of social features. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we’ll remove it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
